Rick Korn, owner of Woodinville Sports Cars, has been actively racing sports cars since the mid-80s. Initially running in Northwest SCCA Conference events with a ’65 Triumph GT6, he joined the Society of Vintage Racing Enthusiasts (SOVREN) a half-dozen years ago and now campaigns a beautiful lt. blue, 1962 Flat Floor Jaguar E-Type Roadster up and down the West Coast.

Competing against other large bore historic race cars, Rick’s E-Type Jaguar is configured to SOVREN’s period specifications retaining its all steel body, iron brakes, and a 4.2L, 6 cylinder engine with Weber-carburetors, producing an estimated 400hp. Built from a rust free barn find car, that was believed wrecked in a 1964 race, Rick has carefully rebuilt and developed both the car and his driving skill, emphasizing safety as much as performance. With much valued assistance from fellow SOVREN racer, Mark Adams, who races both a legendary XK140 and Series II E-Type, Rick’s car is now considered "the fastest Jaguar in the West.”

Check out the videos to see some of the exciting racing action from Rick’s point of view behind the wheel of his nostalgic racer car. [DVDs of the 2005 SOVREN season’s action are for sale as well].

Be sure and stop by the WSC trailer at upcoming vintage race events in the Northwest. [Check the events calendar for race dates]. Also, for advice on tuning and preparation of your race car, feel free to contact Rick at WSC and discuss how WSC might support your racing program.
